School Board Meetings
The North River School District Board of Directors holds a regular monthly business meeting on the third Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
Board meetings can be in-person with masks and distancing, up to 50% room capacity. We will still have zoom capability for those wishing to be off-site. *If you wish to attend in-person, please notify the school at least 3 hours prior to the meeting. Your attendance must be confirmed to ensure that we do not exceed room capacity.

Our Board of Directors
James Banas - Board Chair
James "Jim" Banas serves as Board Chair and is in his 15th year of service. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College and served in the U.S. Air Force as an officer and pilot for 20 years before returning. He then worked for as a Safety Engineer for the Department of Defense for 11 years before a second retirement. Jim has enjoyed substituting. He values students, the school environment, and representing the community taxpayers.
Bob Sholes - Vice Chair
Bob Sholes has been a North River resident for 77 years! He brings experience as a business owner and logger. Bob has served on the North River Board of Directors for over 20 years, and believes in making a difference in the lives of our students.

Julie brings her experience as a business owner to the board. Having her own cleaning service, Julie understands the importance of hard work and dedication. In addition, Julie keeps a pulse on North River in her role as grandmother to three, currently enrolled, students. Julie also has experience as a preschool teacher, and brings her love of learning to her position.

The Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction recently asked its districts to submit plans to address student needs resulting from school building closures and extended time in remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please see our plan below!
